Cedar Falls has many parks, lakes, continuous forests, and walking and bike trails. It has Hartman Reserve Nature Center, Black Hawk County Park, Big Woods Lake, Prairie Park Lake, University of Northern Iowa, the North Cedar Natural Resource Project, the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, Darrell Smith Prairie, the Dry Run Creek Initiative, and many citizen's front and back yards with native pollinators. All of these are very conducive to bird habitat and bird watching. But most of all, Cedar Falls has involved citizens who would like nothing better than to increase the habitat and bird populations of the most at risk birds. We know that a healthy bird population relates closely with a healthy world environment.
